5 reasons to use NOCO® starters
Author: Louise Schneider NOCO® Team Leader
NOCO®’s all-new lithium jump starter line covers a huge range of vehicles, applications and lifestyles. From the smaller GB20 for Powerport applications to the GB150, capable of starting commercial vehicles and large trucks. The good news — the GB150 can also safely jump-start any 12V lead-acid battery. The Boost Jump Starter is part of a range of other power products designed by NOCO®’s in-house design team, including consumer battery chargers, jump starters, solar panels and portable battery packs. What makes the Boost Jump Starter stand out? It’s designed to give you maximum power, in the safest and most robust form. View the full line of NOCO® Genius Boost Lithium Jump Starters.
1. No sparks.
The NOCO® Genius Boost jump starter features spark-proof and reverse polarity protected clamps. The non-melting, smoke-free clamps are reinforced with their metal construction over generic plastic constructions. They are designed to efficiently transfer maximum current flow with minimal power loss and feature silicone insulation for heat stability and flexibility in low-temperature applications. Compared to generic battery clamps, NOCO® battery clamps are carefully designed to prevent injuries. So even if the clamps lightly touch each other, no sparks will be generated. Plus, nothing dangerous will happen if you accidentally place the battery clamps on the wrong terminals. No need to worry if you forget how to connect or if you have difficulty recognizing the polarity of the terminal itself. Once you connect them, the Boost jump starter will let you know.
2. Manual override.
Increase your jump start range by starting with the manual bypass mode. Manual bypass allows you to jump start batteries below 2 volts, a rare condition where the battery is in its final stages and cannot recover. Use the default Boost mode of the jump starter to jump start automotive batteries above 2-volts. However, be careful when using manual mode as both spark protection and reverse polarity protection are disabled in this mode. Make sure the NOCO® battery clamps are connected to the correct battery terminals, then press and hold the manual bypass button for 3 seconds. The white Boost LED will flash, indicating that you are in manual bypass mode. You are now ready to jump start your battery.

3. Ultra-bright LED.
The Genius Boost starter features a dual flashlight with super bright LEDs. With 7 lighting modes, including SOS and emergency mode. It's useful to have a portable, multi-functional flashlight on hand. The powerful light will help you see clearly when working on your engine or even when changing a tire at night. If you need roadside assistance, the LED lights can be used as a signal for oncoming traffic.
4. Protection.
NOCO® Genius Boost starters are designed to withstand any impact. The Boost starter is tough enough to withstand a 15-foot drop or even being run over by a car. The Boost starter is the type of starter you can accidentally kick in your garage and still run. Its door covers keep dirt, dust, water, and scratches out.
